Summer 2014 Speaking Engagements

Senior Partner Karen Hackman has had a busy summer with two speaking engagements in addition to her regular workshop schedule.  On Sunday, June 29th, she spoke to more than 50 local woodland owners hosted by the Central Susquehanna Woodland Owners’ Association.  Her co-presenters were Dr. Jim Finley, Ibberson, Professor Forest Resources Management and Director of the Center for Private Forests at Penn State University and Dr. Allison Muth, Stewardship Program Associate with the Department of Eco Systems Science and Management at Penn State.  Karen’s presentation concentrated on estate planning as part of sustainable forestry.  Her topics included woodland succession planning, family business entities, and the costs of dying and long term care.

Karen also spoke to a group of 25 seniors at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village on July 10th where she addressed managing the costs of long term care, estate planning options and other tools to protect assets from dissipation.
